Time was of the essence when the client asked if there were any reasonably cost effective solutions ARCADION could provide to upgrade the accommodation of the Excalibur jack-up drilling rig. The vessel had a very limited spell at dockside between contracts but a complete refurbishment of the mess-room and replacement of the existing laundry with an internet room, installing new cold-rooms, relocation of the existing laundry and replacement of some of the galley catering equipment were proposed.
Key to the new look mess-room were the replacement of the ceiling and installation of improved lighting, which was extended during build to the new internet café and entrance lobby where additional hand washing and changing facilities were installed.
Once again the use of our 3D graphics at the early proposal stages secured the contract, and whilst our Project Management team finalised the designs, procured equipment and planned the works, the installation was carried out at dockside in Falmouth Cornwall by our in-house construction team.
